Soak up the last of 2009 at Tales by the Sea

If you are anything like me, you are READY for the next year to begin! I am making resolutions today to make sure I am focused and driven in 2010. But, before the clock strikes midnight, I plan to soak up what's left of the year and rinse my lingering cares away....with a SPONGELLE.
These amazing little sponges, featured in numerous magazines we might add, are just the thing to relax your night away.

Our customers say that once they use the SPONGELLE to bathe...they simply won't ever, ever use wash cloth again. "They are addicting," said Miss Virginia Baker. {{in her signature southern voice!}}

SPONGELLE's are known as luxurious skin care for your body! They exfoliate, purify, rejuvenates and hydrate the skin. Each sponge is infused with antioxidants, botanical and anti-aging ingredients. The massaging/exfoliating texture whisks away dry skin and stress. Perfect for traveling, too!

For today, we respectfully ask that you make a resolution to spoil yourself with a soak in the tub with a SPONGELLE. Go ahead you deserve it!

And cheers---to a wonderful New Year for you and those you hold dear!

Gold Chargers Personalized...the perfect gift!

Christmastime is the perfect season for giving and a time for sharing the magic of the season with the ones we cherish and love.

At our home, we celebrate and remember this special time of the year through traditions. One tradition I adore is setting the dining room table with my beautiful Christmas china. The place setting is not complete until it is nestled in my monogrammed Gold Chargers. When the children see the table set with the gold chargers...they know its Christmas time!

Tales by the Sea has 3 styles of chargers now in stock and ready to personalize. Start your own tradition this year by giving yourself or someone you love a set.

Bridal Shoes

Marriage is the beautiful blending of two lives, two loves, two hearts...it's the wonderful, magical moment when a beautiful love story starts.

This weekend, Mr. B and I had the pleasure of attending our dear friends, Mike and Gail Pair's daughter's wedding. Ansley and Steve were married under a glorious sunset in Rosemary Beach.

While the bride's dress was exquisite, it was a peek at her bridal shoes that made me swoon. As the photographer snapped pics of the wedding party near the shore, a light breeze blew a corner of her gown up---and what a pleasant surprise! The bride wore Tales by the Sea's Convertible Sandals!

Her maid of honor was sporting the stylish shoes, also. They both looked beautiful and the shoes were the perfect touch of bling to finish off their ensembles.

Our Convertible Sandals are known as such because the top portion "pops" off and you simply snap on a different topper. So you have many looks with just one pair of shoes. The sandal is so comfortable and light. The versatile color is a mix between: gold, silver and bronze.

The best part was watching Ansley greet her guests in complete comfort the entire night. While most bride's kick off their shoes after a while...Ansley keep her tootsies stylish from beginning to end.

Speaking of stylish (and tasty)...if the Pair name sounds familiar...they are the owners of Rosemary Beach's #1 restaurant, Restaurant Paradis on Barrett Square. If you are at the beach, make sure you stop by and try out their swank bar and delicious menu. YUM!

Congrats to the entire Pair family! "I do" think it was the wedding of the year!

Heidi LoCicero, co-owner of Frill Seekers Gifts in the Village of Baytowne Wharf, is channeling grief into productivity by throwing a Tinkled Pink Party at Graffiti’s in Sandestin on Thursday.

LoCicero lost her mother-in-law to breast cancer about five months ago. Her daughter Peyton, 16, who is a member of the Fort Walton Beach High School Stars dance team, also recently lost her coach, Charlotte Dry, to the disease.

“In the process of grieving and trying to figure out why bad things happen, we realized that we could channel that sadness into building a really great event,” LoCicero said. “It has been a hard year for the family, but we just explained to the children that we can make a difference.”

The mother-daughter team have been working together, in association with the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation, to plan the event. According to LoCicero, she had expected the preparations to take longer, but the response from the community was so great that it came together in just a few months.

Graffiti’s offered to provide a location for the party and lunch for the ladies. And several local businesses, including Aloha Surf Company, The Village Boutique, M Cline Jewelry, CoCo & Co., Mermaids Boutique, Tales by the Sea and Bark Avenue, have donated items for the fashion show and silent auction.

“The local community immediately got behind it,” LoCicero said. “It has really been heartwarming to see that even in bad times people still want to do something good.”
The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 8 and will celebrate survivors of breast cancer and honor the memory of the women who have died from the disease. LoCicero said the event is an opportunity for ladies from the community to get together and relax while raising money for the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation.

For tickets, which are $20 and include lunch, door prize entry and the fashion show, contact Frill Seekers Gifts at (850) 267-4438. Attendees are encouraged to don their favorite hats and wear something pink.

“Come for two hours and spend some time with your girlfriends,” LoCicero said. “It’s going to be a fun, casual event that will have a big impact.”

New shipment of Izabella perfume has arrived!

Tickled Pink Party! Come See Us!

Tales by the Sea is delighted to be participating in this event! Please come see us there!

THINK PINK PARTY! ONE FOR THE GIRLS!

You know life is too busy when you can't find an hour or two to squeeze in lunch with your best girlfriends! It's usually when daily routines get the most hectic that you really need the love and support of your favorite friends---those girls with whom you can laugh until your belly aches, talk on the phone for hours and hours, and share your innermost thoughts.

Next Thursday, October 8th at 11:30 a.m., Emerald Coast ladies will have just opportunity to shop, dine and relax at a festive party with a purpose: The Frill Seekers Gifts/Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation Tickled Pink Party/Luncheon and Fashion Show. Taking place at Graffiti's Restaurant at Sandestin's Baytowne Wharf, this event will celebrate Breast Cancer Survivors and honor the memory of those who lost the battle with a pink themed luncheon complete with pink lemonade and pink ice tea and topped off with pink cupcakes and strawberry pink ice cream!

A stunning fashion show will feature fall and winter clothing collections from CoCo and Company, Tales by the Sea, Mermaids Boutique, The Village Boutique and howling cute doggie fashions from Bark Avenue. A sneak peek at Vera Bradley's winter 2009 collection of handbags, stationery, and travel accessories will be featured from Frill Seekers Gifts in Baytowne Wharf. The Tickled Pink Party will also feature a silent auction of incredible pink gifts, and a presentation by the Vera Bradley Foundation's national ambassador, Heidi Floyd, who is flying into Destin for the event. As a special treat, the first 50 guests to RSVP, will receive a Vera Bradley limited edition gift.

Event founder, Destin resident, Heidi LoCicero and her 16 year old daughter Peyton, created the event to honor Peyton's grandmother, Inez Addison LoCicero, who lost her battle with breast cancer just months ago. "Peyton and I were struggling with grief and felt that we should find a way to not only honor my mother in law's memory, but to raise funds---in a fun way---to help find a cure," said Heidi LoCicero. "This was the perfect way to include the entire community and raise awareness," explained Peyton LoCicero. Peyton, who is a member of the Fort Walton Beach High School Stars Dance team, also recently experienced the loss of the Stars long time coach, Mrs. Charlotte Dry, to the disease. "My team and I miss Mrs. Dry every day and know that by supporting events like this one...that we can save lives," said Peyton. A special Hope Grows Memory Wall at the event will feature Mrs. Dry's photo and event guests are invited to bring photos of their loved ones who have been or are affected by Breast Cancer!

"There's no better place to celebrate life and bond with your BFF's than at a fabulous event, doing fabulous things," LoCicero said. Tickets for the Luncheon are $20.00 which includes a door prize entry, lunch and the style show. Reservations are required. Contact Frill Seekers Gifts at 850-267-4438 for additional information or donate to the cause.

As summer's end approaches, our artists have been back at the "drawing board" creating wonderful new pieces for Tales by the Sea. Today we feature, Miss KK! Remember we ship paintings and you can even take one home on approval to see how it works in your space.

This artist, KK, has been featured in many Emerald Coast magazines and several national shows. Her zest for life and all things fun---keep her customers searching for more of her work. KK's eye for life's smallest details are what captivates her mind as she brings simple images to life.

Time to head to Tales by the Sea

The first cool breeze has just swept through the coast. The laughter of children has turned to groans as they pack their school bags and head back to school. The squeals of happy mommas ready to socialize has started to fill the air at the shop.

Pedal on over the Tales by the Sea to "sea" all of our new goodies!

Fluffy and Hilda May here are pedalling as fast as they can to try on the new Convertible sandals. Our new Izabella candles and perfume are selling out weekly. The candle lines that we brought back from market are scrumptious!

So, come on! Come "sea" us this week at Tales by the Sea. Ask for FREE monogramming on the towel wrap, beach towel or slippers of your choice. Tell'em Hilda said so. {{wink, wink!}}

Another gift basket you have to "sea!"

Yep! She did it again! That #1 salesperson at the Sandestin Hilton and her amazing staff at the Hilton just keep the Tales by the Sea team hopping. This time it was the dynamic duo sales team of Ron and Jon or is it Jon and Ron? Anyway, who knows...

What the Tales by the Sea team does know...its that the Hilton crew KNOWS how to spoil their clients. This is the latest and greatest gift basket that the Tales team sent out on their behalf.

The beach gift basket has a sampling of our best sellers! From a monogrammed platter, zebra note cube, Lollia bath and body treats, seashell trays to a personalized towel wrap...this basket was full of fun.

The team at the Sandestin shop can create a gift basket for any theme, occasion or just because. Simply call with a price range in mind and let the magic begin.

Gift baskets are a great way to welcome guests to the beach or a nice gesture to say thank you for inviting us to your beach house.

What occasion do you have coming up that we can send you a basket for? Huh? We want to know...we just might surprise you.

Lollia makes the magazines...again!

Addiction: an uncontrollable compulsion to repeat a behavior

The perception that all addictions are bad, is just plain wrong! Take the case of our staff addiction to LOLLIA perfume...particularly the fragrance WISH.

We are addicted to this scrumptious blend of delightful, flirty fragrance. One spray is all it takes to make us breathe in deeply and sigh loudly with content. It's just that good. And harmless!

WISH by Lollia was recently featured in Tea Time magazine. We're certain that their editors are just like us...addicted. It's not a crime. It's not an issue.

It's heaven...in a bottle...just a WISH.

Order one bottle today and join the rank of the happily addicted to LOLLIA group. We meet daily at Tales by the Sea in Sandestin's Baytowne Wharf. Join us...won't you? We'll bring the tea!

Yes! Tales by the Sea does deliver gift baskets! We just finished this one for our favorite sales person at the Sandestin Hilton.

Making a big impression is what it's all about...right? Well, our favorite salesperson at Sandestin's Hilton, Pamm Scheyd, knows what it takes. She books more groups and conventions at the beach than anyone we've ever seen. She caters to her clients above and beyond!

Our favorite part about working for Pamm is that she loves spoiling people. Today, she ordered a welcome basket for a client and let the Tales by the Sea team deliver it right to her client's hotel room. We had to push past the bellman, who was drooling over it, step past the concierge who wanted to hand deliver it himself, and barge pass the front desk to the house phone to ring up the lucky guest.

"Ohhh, ahhhh, wow," said the client. "This is beautiful and so thoughtful of Pamm," she exclaimed.

So, the next time you need to welcome a guest to your company, a friend to the beach or to simply butter up the boss... call the Tales by the Sea team and let us "fix you up!" 850-351-1980

If you want to bring your business, group or association to the beach...call Pamm at the Hilton: (504) 872-2113!
