Do you remember what your favorite subject was in school? When I was asked that question, the reply was swift. I would proudly announce: "LUNCH!"

Giggles aside, I loved lunch because I could socialize with my peeps. {not much has changed} I attended a Catholic elementary school just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana and I'm 100% sure that the nuns and teacher would agree with my announcement.

I loved to chit chat and visit. After all, in the strict environment, lunch was the only time we could speak it seemed. I also enjoyed seeing what everyone else had packed in their lunch box. Lunch would surely have been more enjoyable if my mom had packed my tasty treats in one of Tales by the Sea's adorable insulated lunch totes shown here. {my lunch was packed in a plain brown sandwich bag. ewwww. ha!} I would have picked the lime green one and had my name in all lower case letters monogrammed across it in hot pink! Yes, that is what I would have picked.

Now that I am a working girl, I would likely pick the same bag, only I would monogram it in chocolate brown.

The super-cool thing about these lunch totes is that they are insulated for hot or cold items. Love it!

With my elementary school days behind me, I'm left to wonder today...whatever happened to the girls I sat with? I wonder who they sit and eat lunch with these days? Children, office mates or hubbies? Those WERE the days.

I'm totally in LOVE!

It was really love at first sight...the second I saw this fabulous set my client ordered ...I knew we had to be together.

I immediately ordered a set of these plush terry cloth towels for my powder room. This customer ordered white and black as pictured. I ordered white towels with a rich mocha brown monogram! The towel set looks fabulous hanging on my towel rack.

The soap set I ordered was the fresh linen and had a single large initial engraved on each bar. I placed the 3 engraved soaps on a silver tray just like this photo.

Marriage is the beautiful blending of two lives, two loves, two hearts...it's the wonderful, magical moment when a beautiful love story starts.

This weekend, Mr. B and I had the pleasure of attending our dear friends, Mike and Gail Pair's daughter's wedding. Ansley and Steve were married under a glorious sunset in Rosemary Beach.

While the bride's dress was exquisite, it was a peek at her bridal shoes that made me swoon. As the photographer snapped pics of the wedding party near the shore, a light breeze blew a corner of her gown up---and what a pleasant surprise! The bride wore Tales by the Sea's Convertible Sandals!

Her maid of honor was sporting the stylish shoes, also. They both looked beautiful and the shoes were the perfect touch of bling to finish off their ensembles.

Heidi LoCicero, co-owner of Frill Seekers Gifts in the Village of Baytowne Wharf, is channeling grief into productivity by throwing a Tinkled Pink Party at Graffiti’s in Sandestin on Thursday.

LoCicero lost her mother-in-law to breast cancer about five months ago. Her daughter Peyton, 16, who is a member of the Fort Walton Beach High School Stars dance team, also recently lost her coach, Charlotte Dry, to the disease.

“In the process of grieving and trying to figure out why bad things happen, we realized that we could channel that sadness into building a really great event,” LoCicero said. “It has been a hard year for the family, but we just explained to the children that we can make a difference.”

The mother-daughter team have been working together, in association with the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation, to plan the event. According to LoCicero, she had expected the preparations to take longer, but the response from the community was so great that it came together in just a few months.

Graffiti’s offered to provide a location for the party and lunch for the ladies. And several local businesses, including Aloha Surf Company, The Village Boutique, M Cline Jewelry, CoCo & Co., Mermaids Boutique, Tales by the Sea and Bark Avenue, have donated items for the fashion show and silent auction.

“The local community immediately got behind it,” LoCicero said. “It has really been heartwarming to see that even in bad times people still want to do something good.”
The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 8 and will celebrate survivors of breast cancer and honor the memory of the women who have died from the disease. LoCicero said the event is an opportunity for ladies from the community to get together and relax while raising money for the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation.

For tickets, which are $20 and include lunch, door prize entry and the fashion show, contact Frill Seekers Gifts at (850) 267-4438. Attendees are encouraged to don their favorite hats and wear something pink.

“Come for two hours and spend some time with your girlfriends,” LoCicero said. “It’s going to be a fun, casual event that will have a big impact.”

The Tickled Pink Party will also feature a silent auction of incredible pink gifts, and a presentation by the Vera Bradley Foundation's national ambassador, Heidi Floyd, who is flying into Destin for the event. Event founder, Destin resident, Heidi LoCicero and her 16 year old daughter Peyton, created the event to honor Peyton's grandmother, Inez Addison LoCicero, who lost her battle with breast cancer just months ago. "Peyton and I were struggling with grief and felt that we should find a way to not only honor my mother in law's memory, but to raise funds---in a fun way---to help find a cure," said Heidi LoCicero. "This was the perfect way to include the entire community and raise awareness," explained Peyton LoCicero. Peyton, who is a member of the Fort Walton Beach High School Stars Dance team, also recently experienced the loss of the Stars long time coach, Mrs. Charlotte Dry, to the disease. "My team and I miss Mrs. Dry every day and know that by supporting events like this one...that we can save lives," said Peyton. A special Hope Grows Memory Wall at the event will feature Mrs. Dry's photo and event guests are invited to bring photos of their loved ones who have been or are affected by Breast Cancer!

The Fed Ex driver must have thought he hit the jackpot today. He opened the front door of the shop and hollered, "LOLLIA shipment, where d ya want dit?"

All three employees ran to the front door to help him in and rip open the boxes (or "duh boxes" as he calls them!).

This flurry of activity spurred the browsing customers curiosity. As we opened each box, we held up each item like a priced jewel. Ahhh, look at the new perfume. Ohhhh, check out the fabulous hand lotion. Wow, smell the wonderful bath salts. We just went on and on.

Do you WISH the rain would end?

If you live in the south, you've surely said that sentence at least once a day for the last 5 days. Ugh! So, the staff at Tales by the Sea started thinking...if it weren't raining so hard...what do we WISH we could do?

My WISH would be to sprinkle on some of our LOLLIA WISH perfume, (pictured left) and saunter out to the sunny shores of the beach. Meet & Greet at Tales by the Sea! Yall come!

Just like the characters in her latest novel, A Promise Land of Plenty, Destin
resident and author, Betty Lazarini, who writes under the pen name of B.P. Laz,
is not your typical Floridian. While she enjoys soaking up the sun and power
shopping, this talented author is more often spotted on the social scene,
traveling or making mischief with her nearest and dearest girlfriends from
Memphis to Destin.

"I love to write and to create characters," Laz said. Her inspiration for this
book came from two clever ceramic statuettes that the author picked up at a
local gift shop. The expressions on their faces inspired Mrs. Laz to
skillfully craft a story around the adventures of these fantasy females.

This exciting new novel, is a fast-track adventure, of which part is set right
here along the Emerald Coast's own Destin, Florida. Brandy and Mildred, the two
main characters "find themselves in romantic situations with mysterious men
peppered with intrigue, twists and turns over a box load of HOT cash that takes
them from Destin's sandy shores to the noisy, crowded streets of Boston and New
York," said Heidi LoCicero of Tales by the Sea bookstore.

Mrs. Laz is well known for the lengths that she was willing to go to make her
characters even more believable... as evidenced by the 40- double D bra that
one of the characters in the book is known for...actually hangs on the rafters
at the Boathouse down at the Destin harbor!

The author, who splits her time between Memphis, Tennessee and Destin, Florida
will read from A Promise Land of Plenty this Thursday, March 26, 2009 at an
Open House from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tales by the Sea: books,body + bath
store located in Sandestin's Baytowne Wharf. The public is invited to attend and meet this talented author.

The way things work...you might even catch a glimpse of Brandy and Mildred!
Hard copies and paperbacks will be autographed during the Open House.

Must have items for the White House!

In our imagination, here's how we see it...

Last night during our annual New Year's Even party a WORLD WIDE MYSTERY was solved!

The mystery: Why do women go to the bathroom in groups?
